Synopsis/Plot
Prometheus is a science fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott and released in 2012. It is set in the late 21st century and follows a team of scientists and explorers on a journey to a distant moon called LV-223. The team, led by the archaeologist Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace), is searching for the answers to the origins of humanity.
The team discovers an ancient temple on the moon, which contains a map leading to the home of the mysterious Engineers. After exploring the temple, the team discovers a chamber filled with hundreds of alien eggs. When one of the eggs is disturbed, a creature bursts out and attacks the team.
Meanwhile, a robot named David (Michael Fassbender) is sentto the moon by the Weyland Corporation, the company that funded the mission. David is programmed to search for the Engineers and to learn their secrets.
The team eventually discovers that the Engineers created humanity as a weapon to be used against a race of alien monsters called the “Deacons”. Shaw and David find a way to activate the Engineers’ spacecraft and escape the moon, but the Deacons follow them and attack the ship. The crew manages to escape, but Shaw is infected by an alien virus.
The film ends with Shaw in a medical pod, being studied by David as they travel to the Engineers’ home planet. Shaw is determined to find out why the Engineers created humanity and what their ultimate plan is.
