Synopsis/Plot
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women is a biographical drama film that follows the life of Harvard psychologist and inventor William Moulton Marston, the creator of the iconic superhero, Wonder Woman. The film tells the story of Marston’s unconventional life, which included a polyamorous relationship with two women, Elizabeth Marston and Olive Byrne.
The story begins in the 1920s, when Marston is hired by Harvard to teach psychology. He quickly becomes a popular professor, and soon meets Elizabeth, a student who challenges him to rethink his ideas on gender roles. At the same time, Marston meets Olive, a family friend of Elizabeth’s, and the two women become close friends. As Marston’s relationship with the two women grows, he begins to explore his own desires and fantasies, which ultimately leads to the creation of Wonder Woman.
The film follows the trio as they navigate the complexities of their relationship, and the challenges they face due to the stigma of their unconventional lifestyle. As their relationship deepens, Marston continues to develop the iconic character of Wonder Woman, and the trio soon find themselves at the center of a cultural phenomenon.
