Synopsis – What to Expect from “Pretty in Pink”
Pretty in Pink is a classic coming-of-age story set in the 1980s. It follows Andie Walsh, a high school girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is determined to make her own way in life.
Andie is a talented fashion designer, but she’s not accepted by the popular kids at school. She has a close group of friends, including Duckie, her best friend since childhood, and Iona, her outspoken and eccentric friend.
Andie is attracted to a wealthy, popular boy at school, Blane McDonough. Blane is also attracted to Andie, but his friends don’t approve of her and they try to keep them apart.
Andie and Blane continue to see each other in secret, and eventually Blane musters up the courage to take Andie to the prom. He faces his friends’ disapproval, but he stands up for Andie.
At the prom, Andie and Blane have a wonderful time, but when Blane’s friends find out, they corner him and tell him to choose between them and Andie. Blane chooses Andie, and they dance their way out of the prom.
The movie ends with Andie and Blane walking off into the sunset, happy and in love.
