Synopsis – What to Expect from “Prancer”
Prancer is a heartwarming Christmas story about a young girl’s faith in the power of miracles. Set in rural Michigan, the movie follows 8-year-old Jessica Riggs, who discovers a reindeer in the woods near her home. Believing it to be Prancer, one of Santa’s reindeer, she takes it upon herself to nurse it back to health.
Jessica’s father, John, is a struggling farmer who is unable to provide for his family. With the help of her teacher, Miss Miller, Jessica enters a contest to win a Christmas tree for her family. She hopes that if she can win the contest, she will be able to buy food and medicine for Prancer.
Meanwhile, Jessica’s brother, Brian, is skeptical about Prancer and believes that the reindeer is just a regular deer. He is also jealous of the attention that Jessica is receiving from their father.
As Christmas approaches, Prancer’s health begins to improve and Jessica’s faith in the power of miracles begins to grow. With the help of her teacher, Jessica enters Prancer in a reindeer race in order to win money to buy food and medicine for her family.
The race is a success and Jessica wins the money she needs to buy food and medicine for her family. With the help of her teacher, Jessica is also able to get a Christmas tree for her family.
