Synopsis – What to Expect from “Pottersville”
Pottersville is a 2017 comedy-drama film directed by Seth Henrikson and starring Michael Shannon, Judy Greer, Ron Perlman, Thomas Lennon, and Christina Hendricks.
The movie is set in the small town of Pottersville, a once-thriving community that has been slowly dying since the local factory closed. The town is in danger of becoming a ghost town until its mayor, Tom (Michael Shannon), decides to take a radical approach to saving it. He dresses up like Bigfoot and begins to roam the town, creating a media frenzy and bringing the town back to life.
However, this plan backfires when a local reporter, May (Judy Greer), discovers the truth and exposes Tom as a fraud. In an effort to save his reputation, Tom comes up with a plan to bring back the town’s former glory by hosting a giant holiday festival. With the help of his friends, Tom sets out to make the festival a success.
Meanwhile, the townspeople are divided over the mayor’s plan. Some are excited by the prospect of reviving their town, while others are skeptical and worry that the festival will only bring more trouble. As the festival nears, tensions in the town rise and Tom must find a way to bring everyone together.
