Synopsis – What to Expect from “Play It to the Bone”
Play It to the Bone is a 1999 American sports comedy-drama film directed by Ron Shelton and starring Antonio Banderas and Woody Harrelson as two best friends who are professional boxers. The film follows the two fighters, Cesar Dominguez (Banderas) and Vince Boudreau (Harrelson), as they take a road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to compete in a boxing match. Along the way, the two men encounter a variety of characters and obstacles, including a flirtatious female hitchhiker (Lolita Davidovich), a homophobic bar patron (Robert Wagner), a jealous boyfriend (Tom Sizemore), and a gambling addict (Joe Mantegna).
The film begins with Cesar and Vince arriving in Las Vegas to compete in a boxing match. They are accompanied by Cesar’s girlfriend Grace (Lolita Davidovich), who is also Vince’s ex-girlfriend. Cesar and Vince have been best friends since childhood and have been training together for years. They have a friendly rivalry, but their friendship is tested when they both fall for Grace.
