Synopsis – What to Expect from “Pillow Talk”
Pillow Talk is a romantic comedy released in 1959. The movie stars Rock Hudson and Doris Day as Jan Morrow and Brad Allen, two single people living in the same apartment building. Jan is an interior designer and Brad is a womanizing playboy who spends his time writing and singing hit songs.
When Jan and Brad meet, they instantly clash. Jan is put off by Brad’s womanizing ways, while Brad is attracted to Jan’s beauty and intelligence. Despite their differences, the two eventually become close friends.
When Brad discovers that Jan is unable to get a phone line because of him, he decides to help her out and get her a line. However, he soon discovers that Jan has been using the line to talk to her secret boyfriend, which leads to a heated argument between the two.
Meanwhile, Brad’s friend, Jonathan, is determined to get Jan and Brad together. He arranges for them to be on the same party line, and they soon become embroiled in a heated pillow talk conversation. Despite their differences, the two eventually fall in love.
The movie follows Jan and Brad as they navigate their relationship and deal with the consequences of Brad’s womanizing ways. In the end, the two finally come to terms with their feelings and decide to get married. The movie ends on a happy note as the couple exchange vows and kiss.
