Synopsis/Plot
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a 2010 fantasy adventure film based on the novel of the same name by Rick Riordan. The film follows Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old demigod, as he embarks on a quest to prevent a war between the Greek gods.
The film begins with Percy, a troubled 12-year-old boy, being diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. His mother, Sally, takes him to a special school for troubled children, where he meets Grover, a satyr. Grover reveals to Percy that he is a demigod, the son of Poseidon, and that he must go to Camp Half-Blood, a training ground for demAt Camp Half-Blood, Percy learns that his father is in conflict with Zeus, who has stolen the lightning bolt, the source of his father’s power. Percy is also told that he must return the lightning bolt to Zeus before a war between the gods breaks out.
With the help of his friends, Grover and Annabeth, Percy embarks on a quest across the United States to retrieve the lightning bolt and prevent a war between the gods. Along the way, Percy faces many dangers, including monsters, a band of evil demigods, and the Furies. He eventually discovers that Zeus’ master plan is to use the lightning bolt to create a powerful weapon that could destroy Olympus.
With the help of his friends, Percy is able to defeat the forces of evil and return the lightning bolt to Zeus. In the end, Percy is able to prevent a war between the gods and restore peace to Olympus.
