Synopsis/Plot
Peggy Sue Got Married is a 1986 American romantic comedy-drama film written by Jerry Leichtling and Arlene Sarner and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The film stars Kathleen Turner as Peggy Sue Bodell, a middle-aged woman who travels back in time to her senior year in high school in 1960, giving her the chance to change her life.
The film begins with Peggy Sue Bodell (Kathleen Turner) about to attend her 25-year high school reunion. Before the reunion, she collapses and wakes up to find herself back in her senior year in 1960. She soon learns that she has the chance to change her life by making different decisions.
Peggy Sue is reunited with her old boyfriend, Charlie (Nicolas Cage), who is now married to her best friend, Maddy (Catherine Hicks). She is also faced with the possibility of a reunion with her first husband, Michael (Barry Miller). Peggy Sue must decide whether to stay with Charlie and Maddy, or take a chance on a reunion with Michael.
The film follows Peggy Sue as she deals with the consequences of her decisions. She must choose between the past and the present, between love and loneliness
