Synopsis – What to Expect from “Paper Man”
Paper Man is a 2009 comedy-drama film directed by Kieran and Michele Mulroney. The movie follows Richard Dunn (Jeff Daniels), a once-successful novelist who is now struggling to write his second book. After his wife leaves him, Richard moves to a small town in upstate New York where he meets Abby (Emma Stone), a precocious teenager who becomes a mentor to him.
The two form an unlikely friendship, with Abby helping Richard to get back on his feet and to regain his confidence in his writing. As Richard starts to make progress with his book, he also begins to find solace in his friendship with Abby. However, their relationship is tested when Abby’s own life begins to unravel as she struggles with her parents’ divorce.
Meanwhile, Richard is also struggling with his own personal issues, including his fear of failure and his inability to connect with other people. As he and Abby continue to grow closer, Richard must confront his own demons and make peace with his past.
