Synopsis – What to Expect from “Pants on Fire”
Pants on Fire is a 2014 comedy about two best friends, Jack and Miles, who find themselves in a desperate situation. When they are caught in a lie by their high school principal, they must come up with a plan to prove that their lie is actually the truth.
The movie begins with Jack and Miles in the principal’s office. They have been caught lying about a project they had been working on and must think of a way to prove that their lie is actually the truth. After a few failed attempts, they come up with a plan to fake a supernatural experience.
Jack and Miles enlist the help of their friend, Sarah, to create a fake ghost. They build a contraption with a hidden camera and set it up in an abandoned house. Jack and Miles then tell the principal that they had a supernatural experience in the house.
The plan seems to work until the principal decides to investigate further. He hires a paranormal investigator to look into the case. The investigator discovers that the ghost is a fake and the boys are exposed.
Jack and Miles come up with another plan, this time involving a seance. They attempt to summon the ghost of a woman who died in the house years ago. The plan works and Jack and Miles are able to prove that their lie was actually the truth.
The movie ends with Jack and Miles being exonerated and their friendship strengthened. They have learned an important lesson about honesty and the power of friendship.
