Synopsis – What to Expect from “Our Brand Is Crisis”
Our Brand Is Crisis is a 2015 comedy-drama film starring Sandra Bullock, Billy Bob Thornton, Scoot McNairy, Anthony Mackie, Ann Dowd, and Joaquim de Almeida. The film is directed by David Gordon Green and is based on the 2005 documentary of the same name.
The movie follows the story of a political consultant named “Calamity” Jane Bodine (Bullock). Jane is a veteran in the field of political consulting and has a reputation for being a ruthless and effective strategist. She is hired by a Bolivian presidential candidate, Castillo (Almeida), to help him in his campaign against a rival candidate, Pedro Castillo (McNairy).
Jane is initially reluctant to take on the job, but is eventually persuaded by her old friend and rival, Pat Candy (Thornton). Jane and Pat have a long history of competing against each other in the political arena, and while Pat is more of a conventional consultant, Jane is known for her unconventional tactics.
Jane and her team set up shop in Bolivia and begin to devise a strategy to get Castillo elected. Jane’s strategy is to create a negative campaign against Castillo’s rival, focusing on his past mistakes and scandals.
