Synopsis – What to Expect from “Only Angels Have Wings”
Only Angels Have Wings is a 1939 American adventure drama film directed by Howard Hawks and starring Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, and Rita Hayworth. Set in the fictional South American port of Barranca, the film follows the story of a small air freight company, owned and operated by Geoff Carter (Grant). The company is struggling to stay afloat, but Geoff’s determination to keep it going is unwavering.
The film opens with Geoff and his crew of pilots, mechanics, and assistants preparing for a dangerous flight over the Andes Mountains. As the drama intensifies, Geoff and his crew must battle not only the elements, but also their own fears and doubts. In the end, they must find the courage to face the dangers of the sky and prove that only angels have wings.
