Synopsis – What to Expect from “One Week”
One Week is a 2008 drama film directed by Michael McGowan and starring Joshua Jackson, Liane Balaban, and Campbell Scott.
The story follows Ben Tyler (Jackson), a twenty-something who is diagnosed with cancer and given just one week to live. With nothing left to lose, Ben decides to take a cross-country motorcycle journey from Toronto to Vancouver, a journey that will take him through the majestic Canadian Rockies. Along the way, he meets a variety of people who help him to come to terms with his mortality and to discover what is truly important in life.
The film begins with Ben receiving the devastating news of his diagnosis. He quickly decides to take his journey, and sets out on his motorcycle. As he travels, he meets a variety of characters, including an old man who teaches him to appreciate the beauty of life, a young couple who are struggling with their relationship, and a woman who shows him how to truly live.
As he continues on his journey, Ben begins to reflect on his life and his relationships with the people he has known. He also discovers the importance of living life to the fullest, and learns to appreciate the beauty of the world around him.
At the end of his journey, Ben reaches Vancouver, where he is reunited with his family. He has come to terms with his mortality, and is now able to face his death with a newfound peace. In the end, Ben has found strength and courage within himself,
