Synopsis – What to Expect from “One, Two, Three”
One, Two, Three is a 1961 American comedy film directed by Billy Wilder and starring James Cagney, Horst Buchholz, Pamela Tiffin, and Arlene Francis. The film is set in West Berlin during the Cold War and revolves around the antics of an American executive, C.R. MacNamara (Cagney), who is trying to keep his boss’s daughter, Scarlett Hazeltine (Tiffin), out of the hands of a Communist agent, Otto Ludwig Piffl (Buchholz).
The film begins with C.R. MacNamara, an American executive who is sent to West Berlin to run the Coca-Cola branch of the company. Upon arriving in Berlin, MacNamara is informed that his boss, Mr. Hazeltine, is sending his daughter, Scarlett, to stay with him while she attends school in Berlin. MacNamara is instructed to keep an eye on Scarlett and make sure she doesn’t get into any trouble.
Meanwhile, Scarlett meets Otto Ludwig Piffl, a young Communist agent who is trying to recruit her to the Communist cause. MacNamara is determined to keep Scarlett from being swayed by Piffl, but his attempts to keep her away from him are constantly thwarted.
When Scarlett decides to marry Piffl, MacNamara takes drastic measures to prevent the marriage from taking place. He arranges for Scarlett to be kidnapped and taken to East Berlin,
