Synopsis/Plot
One Eight Seven is a 1997 crime drama written by Scott Yagemann and directed by Kevin Reynolds. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson as Trevor Garfield, a New York City schoolteacher who moves to Los Angeles to start a new life. However, his new life quickly spirals out of control when he is attacked by a gang of students in his classroom. After the attack, Trevor is forced to confront the harsh realities of life in the inner city, and he soon finds himself embroiled in a violent battle for survival.
The film follows Trevor as he navigates the dangerous streets of Los Angeles and attempts to find his place in the city. He soon discovers that the only way to survive is to fight back, and he must use his wits and courage to survive. As he struggles to survive, he also struggles to maintain his moral code and find redemption in a city filled with violence and despair.
