Synopsis – What to Expect from “Ondine”
Ondine is a magical drama/fantasy film starring Colin Farrell and Alicja Bachleda-CuruÅ›. The movie is set in a small fishing village in Ireland, and tells the story of Syracuse (Farrell), a fisherman who discovers a mysterious woman (Bachleda-CuruÅ›) in his fishing net. She claims to be a Selkie, a mythical creature from Irish folklore. Syracuse is skeptical of her claims, but as he gets to know her, he finds himself falling in love with her.
The two of them form a strong bond, and Syracuse begins to believe her story. He helps her to hide from the outside world, as he believes she will be persecuted if anyone finds out she is a Selkie. Syracuse’s daughter Annie also takes a liking to the mysterious woman, and starts to believe in her story as well.
However, their happiness is short-lived, as Syracuse’s ex-wife reappears and begins to investigate the mysterious woman. She discovers the truth about her and threatens to expose her. In the end, Syracuse and Annie manage to protect the woman and keep her safe from the outside world.
The movie is a beautiful and touching story of love, family, and the power of belief. It is a story of hope, of finding love in the most unexpected places, and of believing in the impossible.
