Synopsis/Plot
Okja is a 2017 action-adventure film directed by Bong Joon-ho and starring Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, and Seo-Hyun Ahn. The film follows a young girl named Mija, who lives in the South Korean mountains with her grandfather and her best friend, a massive genetically modified pig named Okja. When a powerful multinational corporation kidnaps Okja and takes her away to New York City, Mija embarks on a daring rescue mission to save her beloved friend. Along the way, she meets a motley crew of animal rights activists, led by the animal-loving Jay, who are determined to stop the corporation’s cruel experiments.
