Synopsis – What to Expect from “Observe and Report”
Observe and Report is a 2009 comedy film starring Seth Rogen as Ronnie Barnhardt, a head of security at a mall in suburban Washington. Ronnie is an overzealous, self-important mall cop who is determined to apprehend a flasher terrorizing the mall. He teams up with the local police detective Harrison (Ray Liotta) to investigate the case.
The movie follows Ronnie’s attempts to find the flasher, while also dealing with the other mall employees, including the obnoxious mall manager (Michael Pena) and the attractive makeup counter girl Brandi (Anna Faris). Ronnie’s obsession with catching the flasher leads him to take increasingly extreme measures, and he eventually finds himself in a situation that could cost him his job.
Meanwhile, Ronnie is also struggling with his own personal issues, including his intense feelings for Brandi, and his strained relationship with his alcoholic mother. As Ronnie’s investigation progresses, he finds himself in a series of increasingly dangerous and absurd situations.
In the end, Ronnie must confront his own demons and overcome his own insecurities in order to save the day and get the girl. Observe and Report is a hilarious and outrageous comedy that will have you laughing out loud.
