Synopsis – What to Expect from “Nuns on the Run”
Nuns on the Run is a 1990 British comedy film directed by Jonathan Lynn and starring Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane. The plot follows two petty criminals, Brian (Idle) and Charlie (Coltrane), who accidentally end up posing as nuns in a convent while on the run from a gangster.
The movie begins with Brian and Charlie, two small-time crooks, robbing a jewelry store in London. They are pursued by a gangster, who is determined to get his money back. In an attempt to escape, the two men disguise themselves as nuns and hide in a nearby convent.
At the convent, the two men are mistaken for real nuns and are welcomed as new members of the order. They quickly learn how to fit in with the other nuns and even help out with their daily chores. However, their presence soon attracts the attention of the gangster, who is determined to find them.
Meanwhile, Brian and Charlie discover that the convent is in financial trouble and decide to help out by organizing a charity concert. With the help of the other nuns, they manage to put on a successful show and raise enough money to save the convent from bankruptcy.
As the gangster closes in on the two men, they manage to escape with the help of the nuns. In the end, the two men are able to keep the money they stole and make a clean getaway.
Nuns on the Run is a hilarious comedy
