Synopsis – What to Expect from “Nowhere Special”

Nowhere Special is a 2020 drama film about a single father, James, and his son, Michael. James is a widower and Michael is an only child. The film follows the two as they navigate life together, with James struggling to make ends meet and Michael trying to adjust to life without a mother.

The story begins with James and Michael living in a small, run-down apartment. James works as a delivery driver, but his wages are barely enough to cover their basic needs. As a result, James and Michael often struggle to make ends meet.

One day, James is offered a job as a caretaker for an elderly man, Mr. Brown, who is terminally ill. Desperate for the money, James takes the job and moves into Mr. Brown’s home. Michael is initially resistant to the idea, but the two soon form a close bond with Mr. Brown.

At the same time, James and Michael continue to struggle financially. As James works long hours to care for Mr. Brown, Michael is left to fend for himself. He begins to feel isolated and alone, and his grades start to slip.

Just when it seems like things can’t get any worse, Michael discovers that Mr. Brown has been keeping a secret. He has been saving money for James and Michael so that they can have a better life. With this newfound hope, James and Michael are able to start building a brighter future.
