Nineteen Eighty-Four is a 1984 British dystopian science fiction film directed by Michael Radford and based on George Orwell’s 1949 novel of the same name. Set in a totalitarian future society, the film follows the life of Winston Smith, a low-ranking member of the ruling Party in London, in the nation of Oceania. The Party controls every aspect of life, and Winston is desperate to escape the oppressive control and find a way to rebel against the Party.

He also struggles to maintain a forbidden love affair with Julia, a fellow member of the Party. As Winston’s relationship with Julia deepens, he begins to question the Party’s motives and its control over the population.
