Synopsis/Plot
Nine 1/2 Weeks is a 1986 erotic drama film directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke. The film is about a woman, Elizabeth, who is drawn into a passionate but ultimately destructive affair with a mysterious Wall Street broker, John.
The film begins with Elizabeth, a divorced art gallery worker, being approached by John, a wealthy Wall Street broker. Despite the fact that John is married, the two quickly become involved in a passionate affair. As the relationship progresses, John introduces Elizabeth to increasingly intense sexual experiences.
Elizabeth is initially hesitant but soon finds herself entranced by John and the intensity of their relationship. However, as the relationship continues, Elizabeth begins to realize that John is manipulating her and that he is not the man she thought he was.
The film culminates in a scene where John takes Elizabeth to a deserted warehouse and ties her up. Elizabeth eventually breaks free and leaves John, realizing that their relationship has been destructive and unhealthy.
