Synopsis – What to Expect from “Nightmares”
Nightmares is a horror anthology film released in 1983, directed by Joseph Sargent and written by Joseph Minion. The film follows four separate stories, each with its own unique horror theme.
The first story, “Terror in Topanga,” follows a young girl named Robin (Lori Loughlin) who moves to a new home in Topanga, California. She soon discovers that her new home is haunted by a malevolent spirit. As the hauntings become more frequent and intense, Robin must find a way to rid her home of the spirit before it takes control of her life.
The second story, “Night of the Rat,” follows a young man named Bill (John Saxon) who is plagued by a recurring nightmare involving a giant rat. Bill soon discovers that the rat is real and is stalking him. He must find a way to stop the rat before it kills him.
The third story, “The Benediction,” follows a priest (Robert Englund) who has been assigned to investigate a mysterious death in a small town. He soon discovers that the death was caused by a powerful demon, and he must find a way to stop it before it destroys the town.
