Synopsis/Plot
Night Shift is a 1982 American comedy film directed by Ron Howard and starring Michael Keaton and Shelley Long. It tells the story of two friends, Chuck Lumley (Keaton) and Bill Blazejowski (Henry Winkler), who work the night shift at a morgue. In order to make ends meet, they decide to start a prostitution business out of the morgue, with the help of a prostitute named Belinda (Long). The business is a success, but things get complicated when Chuck’s ex-girlfriend, Marnie (Geena Davis), shows up and Chuck falls for her again. Meanwhile, the police are hot on their trail, as well as a shady businessman who wants to buy the morgue.
Night Shift is a fast-paced and funny comedy about two friends who take risks and learn some important lessons. The film features a great cast, with Keaton and Long delivering strong performances. It is a lighthearted and entertaining movie that will make you laugh and leave you with a smile on your face.
