Synopsis/Plot
New Nightmare is a 1994 American horror film written and directed by Wes Craven. It is the seventh installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and stars Heather Langenkamp, Robert Englund, and Wes Craven himself. The film follows Heather Langenkamp, the original star of the original A Nightmare on Elm Street, as she is terrorized by a darker, more powerful version of Freddy Krueger.
The film begins with a nightmare that Heather Langenkamp is having, in which she is being chased by Freddy Krueger. She wakes up to find that her young son Dylan has been having the same nightmare, and she soon discovers that the Freddy Krueger from her nightmares is real. She is contacted by Wes Craven, who is making a new movie about Freddy Krueger, and he believes that the real Freddy is somehow connected to the movie.
Heather soon discovers that the Freddy Krueger of her nightmares is a darker, more powerful version of the Freddy from the original films. He is determined to break free from the dream world and enter the real world, and he will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
