Synopsis – What to Expect from “National Security”
National Security is a 2003 American action comedy film starring Martin Lawrence and Steve Zahn. The film follows Earl Montgomery (Lawrence) and Hank Rafferty (Zahn), two Los Angeles-based police officers who become embroiled in a turf war between rival security companies.
When Hank’s partner is killed in a botched drug bust, Earl is assigned as his new partner. Earl is a former Marine who was dishonorably discharged after a violent incident with a superior officer. He is now a security guard, but is determined to prove himself as a capable police officer. He and Hank soon find themselves in the middle of a turf war between two rival security companies, one owned by a former LAPD officer and the other by a former Navy SEAL.
The two security companies are competing to secure a major contract with the city, and they will stop at nothing to get it. As Earl and Hank investigate, they discover that the two companies are controlled by the same man, and that the contract is part of a larger criminal conspiracy.
The two officers must now use their wits and street smarts to unravel the conspiracy and bring the criminals to justice. Along the way, they must contend with corrupt cops, dangerous criminals, and their own personal demons. Ultimately, they must decide if they are willing to risk everything for justice.
