Synopsis/Plot
Nappily Ever After is a romantic comedy-drama movie directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour and written by Tina Gordon Chism and Lisa Loomer. It is based on the novel of the same name by Trisha R. Thomas.
The movie follows the story of Violet Jones (Sanaa Lathan), a successful advertising executive who has her life perfectly planned out. She is in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend Clint (Ricky Whittle), and she is determined to make her relationship work despite his lack of commitment.
Violet’s life begins to unravel when she has a chance encounter with a handsome barber, Will (Lyriq Bent). This sparks a journey of self-discovery and transformation for Violet, as she begins to question the perfection she has been striving for.
With the help of her mother (Lynn Whitfield) and sister (Erin Krakow), Violet begins to let go of her need for perfection and learns to embrace her imperfections. She embarks on a journey to find her true identity by cutting off her perfectly straightened hair and going natural.
Along the way, Violet learns to accept her flaws and discovers
