Synopsis – What to Expect from “My Giant”
My Giant is a 1998 American comedy-drama film starring Billy Crystal and directed by Michael Lehmann.
The movie follows the story of Sammy, a down-on-his-luck Hollywood agent, who is having a mid-life crisis. When Sammy’s car breaks down in Romania, he meets Max, a 7-foot-7-inch tall Romanian peasant. Max has come to America to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor, so Sammy takes him under his wing and brings him to Los Angeles.
Once in L.A., Sammy quickly discovers that Max is a natural actor, and he begins to make a name for himself. However, Sammy soon finds out that Max is the product of a failed genetic experiment, and he is being pursued by a shady scientist who wants to use him for his own nefarious purposes.
Sammy must protect Max from the scientist while trying to help him achieve his dream of becoming an actor, all while dealing with his own personal issues.
The movie is a heart-warming and funny look at life, friendship, and the pursuit of dreams. Along the way, Sammy and Max learn important life lessons and build an unlikely bond that will last a lifetime.
