Synopsis – What to Expect from “Ms .45”
Ms. 45 is a 1981 thriller directed by Abel Ferrara, starring Zoë Lund, and released on April 24th, 1981.
The movie follows Thana, a mute seamstress working in New York City. On her way home one night, she is attacked and raped by a hoodlum. When she arrives home, she finds her apartment has been robbed. In a fit of rage, she kills the burglar with a .45 caliber pistol.
Thana is so traumatized by the experience that she begins to take vigilante justice into her own hands, killing any man who crosses her path. She begins to wear a nun-like habit and a mask, and becomes a brutal and silent killer in the night.
The police begin to investigate the mysterious killings, and Thana is soon dubbed “The .45 Caliber Killer”. Thana’s life begins to spiral out of control as she becomes more and more consumed by her new identity. She begins to lose her grip on reality and her sanity, and her killing spree continues.
The police eventually track Thana down and arrest her, but not before she kills one last victim. In the end, Thana is sent to a mental institution for treatment.
The movie is a chilling exploration of violence, trauma, and revenge. It is a powerful and disturbing look at the effects of violence on a person’s psyche. It is a must-see for fans of psychological thrillers.
