Synopsis/Plot
Mrs. Doubtfire is a 1993 comedy-drama directed by Chris Columbus and starring Robin Williams, Sally Field, and Pierce Brosnan. The film tells the story of Daniel Hillard (Williams), a struggling actor and divorced father of three children. After losing custody of his children, Daniel disguises himself as an elderly British nanny named Mrs. Doubtfire in order to be closer to them.
The film follows Daniel as he juggles his double life, trying to keep his identity a secret from his ex-wife, Miranda (Field), while also trying to keep up with his acting career. As Mrs. Doubtfire, Daniel is able to bring joy into his children’s lives and help them cope with the divorce. He also helps Miranda in her career as a successful catering business.
Mrs. Doubtfire is a heartfelt and lighthearted comedy that follows Daniel as he learns to be a better father and husband.
