Is Movavi Video Suite worth it?
To find out whether the Movavi video suite is the right video editor for you, it’s better to know about its features first.
If I were to describe the Movavi video suit in a nutshell, it is a video editor, a Screen Recorder, and a potent media converter, and even that would be underselling it.
Let’s find out more about its features in detail in the sections to follow.
Movavi Video Suite features
1. Edit your video and audio clips with ease
It’s quite easy to edit your video and audio recordings using the Movavi video suite.
You can add filters, add transitions between different cut scenes, add cool stickers and titles right in the video.

It is a great accessory for creating engaging social media content. You can edit your original audio recording or add a custom score to add that extra spice to your content.
The easy and clutter-free UI makes editing fun and hassle-free. That’s not all, serious content creators can even add their custom audio recordings to their video clips to enhance clarity, and add a professional touch to their media.
To make things even better, you can use the same editor to create slideshows and presentations for your business meetings or relive old memories by taking snapshots of your old photos and videos.
A pretty decent way to surprise your loved ones on that special occasion. What do you think?
2. Media file converter and disc burner
The Movavi Video Suite flaunts a versatile video converter, you can use it to convert between any video format.
It also allows you to burn your edited content onto CDs, DVDs, or Blu-Ray discs.

This reduces your dependency on other burning software and brings all your utilities under one roof.
Its simple UI makes your project archiving simple.
3. Record your screen and then some more
If you are an online tutor or just another professional working from home, then you would love the screen recording feature.

Just select the area which you want to capture and you can take a snap of it at the click of a button.
Do you want things even faster? Assign a hotkey/ shortcut of your choice and you can control your screen recording and take snapshots using your custom-defined key combination.
It also allows you to record your webcam feed and microphone audio while recording your screen activities.
A spot-on combination for gamers who want to start their gameplay channel on YouTube or Twitch.
Hey! Even PewDiePie had to start somewhere, right?
4. Media library for effortless syncing
The Movavi Mobile Companion is a synching tool that allows you to transfer your photos and other media contents from your phone to your Movavi media library and vice versa through the cloud.
You can put all the media files that you want to edit or convert in the movavi library on the phone, and it would be instantly available to you on your PC.

After you are done with editing, the processed content can be accessed from your smartphone where the Mobile Companion is installed.
For now, the Mobile Companion is only available on the Android app store and not present on the Apple app store.
Hands-on experience
Now that you have some idea about its features let’s talk about how my user experience was when I was working on the Movavi video suite review.
Installation
Once you have downloaded the executable, simply run it to trigger the installation package.
It prompts you to select the installation location and in a few minutes, the installation is complete.

After the Movavi Video Suite is successfully installed, you would be navigated to the default landing page.
This page shows you its different capabilities. From this page, you can launch whichever tool you want to use.

Edit videos
Let’s start by sharing my experience with video editing.
When you click on “New Project” from the edit video section, the Movavi Video Suite triggers the video editor.
It does take quite some time to launch the video editor though. This is because the Video Suite is a software bundle and harbors many different tools.

Once the video editor is launched, you can drag-and-drop or import your video files. You can see the preview of the video file on the right, and select and add it to the timeline below for editing it.

The handy editing tools on top of the editor timeline lets you crop, trim, rotate, add a filter or adjust the color tone of your video.
Just by the click of a button, you can add cool transitions and stickers to make your video a bit more entertaining. Adding the effects was simple and didn’t require a lot of effort.
For example, to emphasize a moving vehicle, I added a sticker, synced it with the vehicle’s frame on the editor timeline, and resized it to match the object.

One feature that I liked was the video stabilization. If you have a high frame-rate video content that is shaky, you can specify the amount of stabilization and stabilize the video clip at the click of a button.
Once the video is stabilized you can preview the stabilized output and compare it with the original clip.
Accordingly, in multiple successions, you can achieve the level of stabilization you are looking for.

You can use audio editing to synchronize your background tracks, remove noise and add custom effects to your video clip.
To remove noise, simply select the clip, add noise removal, and select the noise removal bar to manage the degree of noise dampening.

Overall, the video editing tool would cater to almost all your basic video editing needs and help you in making creative videos for your social media platforms.
Video Convertor
To open the video converted, just click on the launch button on the Movavi Video suite dashboard. Once the converter is open you can import files to be converted.

The user interface is very intuitive and you can choose to compress your media files to save space. You can add subtitles to your videos too.

Just in case you want to make some last-minute edit, click on the edit button and a simplified video editor would pop up. That’s right you can edit your video clips from the video convertor tool too.

Once you are done editing and adding subtitles, you can choose the device or the format into which you want to convert your media clips.
One neat trick is, if you plug in a device while the video converter is opened, Movavi Video Suite automatically recognizes the device and gives you media format suggestions for conversion.

Screen Recorder
The Screen Recorder is very easy to use and great software for teachers and online tutors. After launching the recorder the recording controller widget automatically pins itself to the right and allows you to record, and capture screenshots of your activities with the least interference.
You wouldn’t even know it’s there.

The recorder allows you to specify whether you want to record the screen, webcam feed, and microphone too.

From the settings, you can change keyboard shortcuts, specify the directory where your recordings and screenshots would be saved, and set the recording quality.

Photo editing
The suite supports photo editing, but the required tools were not part of the initial package. On clicking on it, the application triggered the download.

I think it’s a good move that the photo editor wasn’t shipped with the Movavi Video suite, else the package would have been bulky.
Simply add your images to the photo editor and start editing.
The AI adjust feature helps in modulating the HDR lighting, enhance them and also reduce noise from high ISO images.

You can use the smart eraser to remove certain elements without affecting the backdrop. Simply select the item you want to erase and zoom in to capture the elements properly and click on “Start Erasing” to remove it from the picture.
I used it to remove the bike’s logo and rearview mirror.

After you are done with editing, you can use the preview icon on the top to compare your original image with the final output.

You can do a lot more using the photo editor, and add frames, captions, and stickers to create captivating social media posts or for sharing on creating content on your webpages.
Hassle-free photo editing indeed.
Movavi Mobile Companion
To use the Movavi Mobile Companion, you must have an Android smartphone. Install the app from the Google Play app store and start syncing your content.
You can add items to edit on your Android smartphone and they would be available to you on your Windows or Mac machine. You must make sure that you are logged in with the same account on your Android device too.

Movavi uses Google Drive to allow cloud syncing. So when you are done with editing and have saved your project on your machine, your final edited videos and images would get directly synced to Google Drive and would be available to you on your Android device too.
This actually helps you to upload content on social media platforms at a faster pace with less hassle.
Burn Discs
To add image or data burning capabilities to your Movavi Video suite, download the burn disc package from the Data Tools section.

After launching the application, add the files that you want to burn on the disc.
Also, on the right, you can select the type of disc you want to burn. After selecting the disc type, you can see the amount of memory on the disc required to burn your data and how much space is remaining.

Once you are done setting up the burning configuration, you can either opt to burn your data to an actual disc or save it as an image.
Movavi Video Editor Plus vs Video Suite: Which is better?
The Movavi Video Editor Plus is a great video editing tool.
But when you compare it with Movavi Video Suite Personal, or Video Suite 2021, you would notice that the video editor’s feature is just a subset of the features of the Video Suite.
The Movavi Video Suite 2021 provides you with a lot more features than just video editing. Refer to the table below for a detailed comparison.
