Synopsis – What to Expect from “Mother’s Day”
Mother’s Day is a 2010 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Garry Marshall and starring Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, and Jason Sudeikis.
The story revolves around three generations of women who are brought together on Mother’s Day. Sandy (Jennifer Aniston) is a divorced single mother who is struggling to make ends meet and keep her teenage son, Dylan (Britton Sear) happy. Her sister, Jesse (Kate Hudson) is a successful businesswoman who is married to a successful doctor, Russell (Aasif Mandvi), and has two children. Finally, their mother, Miranda (Julia Roberts) is a widow who is still mourning the death of her husband.
On the day of Mother’s Day, Sandy, Jesse, and Miranda are brought together to celebrate the holiday. However, the reunion is not without its complications. Sandy is struggling to keep Dylan in check, Jesse is dealing with marital issues, and Miranda is still dealing with her husband’s death. Despite their differences, the three women come together to celebrate the holiday and learn more about each other.
The movie follows each of the women as they navigate their relationships with each other and their families. Along the way, they learn more about themselves and each other, and ultimately come to terms with their pasts and understand the importance of family. In the end, the three women come together to celebrate the holiday in a meaningful way.
