Synopsis/Plot
Mom and Dad is a 2017 dark comedy horror film directed by Brian Taylor and starring Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair. The movie follows the story of a suburban family whose parents, Brent and Kendall, suddenly develop a strange and violent urge to murder their own children. The family must fight for survival as the parents turn on each other and their children in a desperate attempt to protect them from the murderous rage of their own parents.
The film starts off with Brent and Kendall, a married couple living in a suburban neighborhood with their two children, Carly and Josh. The family seems to be living a normal life until one day when Brent and Kendall inexplicably become overwhelmed with a strange urge to kill their own children. As the parents become more and more violent, the children must find a way to survive and escape their murderous parents.
The movie takes a darkly comedic approach to its subject matter, with the parents comically trying to kill their children in increasingly ludicrous ways. The movie also explores the idea of parental love and how it can be corrupted by uncontrollable urges.
