Synopsis – What to Expect from “Mischief”
Mischief is a 1985 American teen comedy film directed by Mel Damski and starring Doug McKeon, Catherine Mary Stewart, Kelly Preston, and Chris Nash. The film follows the story of a group of high school students who find themselves in the middle of a mischievous prank war.
The film opens with high school student Jonathan Bellah (Doug McKeon) living in a small town in Ohio. He has been accepted to an elite college, but his parents are unable to afford the tuition. Jonathan is determined to make it on his own and decides to apply for a job at a local grocery store. Meanwhile, his best friend Gene (Chris Nash) is busy planning a wild prank involving a fake kidnapping.
At the grocery store, Jonathan meets Marilyn O’Connor (Catherine Mary Stewart), a beautiful and intelligent student from the same college he hopes to attend. The two quickly become friends, and Marilyn helps Jonathan get the job.
Meanwhile, Gene’s prank goes off without a hitch and the town is left in shock. Jonathan and Marilyn decide to join in the prank war and come up with a plan to prank the school principal, Mr. Collins (Kenneth McMillan). The plan involves breaking into the school and stealing the principal’s prized collection of rare coins.
