Synopsis – What to Expect from “Miracle Mile”

Miracle Mile is a 1988 romantic thriller directed by Steve De Jarnatt. The movie stars Anthony Edwards and Mare Winningham as Harry and Julie, two strangers who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles.

The movie begins with Harry, an aspiring musician, and Julie, a waitress, meeting at a diner. They quickly hit it off, and Harry invites Julie to a jazz concert that night. At the concert, Harry receives a phone call from a panicked stranger who warns him of an impending nuclear attack. Harry quickly takes Julie and leaves the concert, and they spend the night together in a motel.

The next day, Harry and Julie head to the airport to try and escape the city, but the airports are all closed due to the attack warning. Desperate to get out of the city, they hitch a ride with a trucker, who tells them that the military has blocked off all the roads leading out of the city.

Harry and Julie then make their way to a radio station, where they learn that the attack warning was a false alarm. The station then plays a song that Harry wrote, and it becomes an instant hit.

The rest of the movie follows Harry and Julie as they try to make their way out of the city and find a way to be together. Along the way, they encounter a variety of characters, including a mysterious man who claims to have information about the attack warning.
