Synopsis – What to Expect from “Mindhorn”
Mindhorn is a 2016 British comedy film written and directed by Sean Foley. The film stars Julian Barratt, Simon Farnaby, Essie Davis, and Andrea Riseborough.
The film follows washed-up actor Richard Thorncroft (Barratt), who was once the star of a popular 1980s detective show called Mindhorn. When a deranged criminal (Farnaby) begins a killing spree on the Isle of Man, the police enlist Thorncroft to help them catch the killer, believing that the only way to do so is to get him to confess to Mindhorn.
Thorncroft reluctantly agrees, and returns to the island for the first time in decades. He is immediately confronted by his former costar and love interest, Patricia Deville (Davis), who is now a successful businesswoman.
The police, led by Detective Sergeant McKeown (Riseborough), enlist Thorncroft’s help to bring the killer to justice. Thorncroft must find a way to use his old Mindhorn character to get the killer to confess.
The killer is determined to prove that Mindhorn is real, and Thorncroft must use his acting skills and improvise a plan to get the killer to confess. He must also deal with his unresolved feelings for Patricia, and try to repair the damage he caused in the past.
The stakes are high as Thorncroft and the police race to catch the killer before more innocent people are harmed. Along the way
