Synopsis/Plot
Mimic is a 1997 science-fiction horror film directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Mira Sorvino, Jeremy Northam, and Josh Brolin. The film follows the story of entomologist Dr. Susan Tyler (Sorvino) and her team of scientists, who have created a species of genetically engineered giant cockroaches to help combat a deadly disease that is killing children in New York City.
The team’s plan works, and the disease is eradicated. However, the cockroaches have evolved to mimic humans, and soon begin to hunt and kill. It is up to Dr. Tyler and her team to find a way to stop the creatures before they can do any more damage.
The film is filled with suspense and horror, as the team must battle their way through the dark tunnels of the subway system in order to find and destroy the creatures. Along the way, they discover a secret underground city populated by the creatures.
Mimic is a thrilling and suspenseful film that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is a great blend of science-fiction and horror, and is sure to keep you entertained.
