Synopsis – What to Expect from “Military Wives”
Military Wives follows the true story of the women of the British military who formed the first ever military wives choir while their loved ones were away at war.
The film begins with Kate (Kristin Scott Thomas), a wife of a military serviceman, struggling to cope with her husband being away at war. She finds solace in the support of her fellow military wives and soon finds an outlet for her emotions in the form of song. She and her friend Lisa (Sharon Horgan) decide to form a choir for the women who are going through similar experiences.
The choir quickly gains traction and soon the women are performing in front of large crowds. As they become more successful, the women begin to find a newfound sense of purpose and strength in their newfound community.
However, the war is taking its toll on the women and their families. As the stories of the servicemen and their struggles become more real, the women must find a way to remain strong and support each other in the face of adversity.
The film follows the women’s journey as they struggle to keep their choir together and remain strong in the face of tragedy. Through their music, the women find a way to express themselves and come to terms with the struggles they are facing.
In the end, the women of the choir prove that music can be a powerful tool for healing and that even in the face of tragedy, hope and strength can be found in the power of community.
