Synopsis/Plot
Mid90s is a coming-of-age movie directed by Jonah Hill and released in 2018. The film follows the story of Stevie, a thirteen-year-old boy living in Los Angeles in the mid-90s. Feeling neglected and isolated from his single mother and older brother, Stevie seeks out solace in the local skateboard scene. He meets a group of skateboarders and quickly becomes a part of their tight-knit community. Through his new friends, Stevie is able to gain a sense of belonging and identity that he has been lacking.
The film follows Stevie’s journey of self-discovery as he navigates the highs and lows of teenage life. He experiences the joys of newfound freedom, but also the dangers of peer pressure and making the wrong choices. As Stevie struggles to find his place in the world, he learns the hard lesson that growing up can be a difficult and painful process.
