Synopsis – What to Expect from “Mickey’s Delayed Date”
Mickey’s Delayed Date is a classic animated short film released in 1947. The story follows Mickey Mouse, who is waiting for Minnie Mouse to arrive for their date. As he waits, he starts to worry that she won’t show up. He then runs into his old friend, Pluto, who is also waiting for his date. The two of them commiserate over their respective woes and then decide to go for a walk.
On their walk, they come across a group of kids playing a game of tag. Mickey and Pluto decide to join in, but Pluto soon finds himself on the receiving end of a beating. He runs away, leaving Mickey alone to take his place. Mickey has a great time playing with the kids, but soon realizes that he has completely forgotten about his date with Minnie.
He rushes back home, only to find Minnie waiting for him. She is very disappointed that he has forgotten their date, but when she sees the smile on his face, she can’t help but forgive him. The two of them then go on their date, and Mickey promises to never forget again.
The film ends with the two of them walking off into the sunset, hand in hand.
