Synopsis/Plot
Michael is a 1996 American fantasy comedy-drama film directed by Nora Ephron and starring John Travolta, Andie MacDowell, William Hurt, and Bob Hoskins. The film follows the story of an angel, Michael, who is sent to Earth to help a family in need. Michael is a kind and gentle angel who has been sent to Earth to help a struggling family. He arrives in the small town of Saginaw, Michigan and quickly befriends the family, helping them through a variety of problems. He teaches them the value of faith, hope, and love.
The family is made up of Frank (John Travolta), his wife, Dorothy (Andie MacDowell), and their two children, Maria (Lorraine Bracco) and Tony (Charlie Hofheimer). Frank is a struggling businessman who has been forced to take a job as a janitor at the local high school. Dorothy is a homemaker who is struggling to keep her family together. Maria is a teenaged girl who is dealing with the pressures of growing up, while Tony is a young boy who is trying to find his place in the world.
