Synopsis – What to Expect from “Metro”
Metro is a 1997 action-comedy starring Eddie Murphy and Michael Rapaport. The film follows a group of bumbling detectives who are hired by a powerful mob boss to retrieve a stolen diamond from a rival gang.
The story begins with a daring heist at a jewelry store. A group of criminals led by the notorious Simon Brand (Michael Rapaport) steal a valuable diamond. However, their getaway is interrupted by the arrival of the police, and the gang is forced to flee, leaving the diamond behind.
The diamond is confiscated by the police, and put into the evidence locker of the Metro Police Department. Meanwhile, the mob boss, Mr. Yamamoto (Joe Pantoliano), hires the bumbling detectives, Jack (Eddie Murphy) and David (Michael Wincott), to retrieve the diamond.
Jack and David set out to recover the diamond, but they quickly find themselves in over their heads. With the help of their friend, a computer hacker named Ella (Kathleen Robertson), they track down the diamond’s location and devise a plan to steal it from the police station.
However, the plan goes awry when the police arrive and Jack and David are forced to flee. With the police in pursuit, the two detectives must find a way to retrieve the diamond and get away before they are caught.
