Synopsis – What to Expect from “MegaFault”
MegaFault is a 2009 disaster movie about a geologist, Emily (Brittany Murphy), who discovers that a major earthquake is about to hit the United States. Emily is determined to save her family and warn the public, but finds herself in a race against time.
When a mining operation in a small town in Nevada causes a massive earthquake, the entire West Coast of the United States is put into danger. Emily discovers that the quake was caused by a previously unknown fault line, and that a bigger quake is about to hit. With the help of her ex-husband, Jake (Justin Long), Emily races to warn the public and save her family.
Meanwhile, the government is in chaos, and the military is sent in to contain the situation. The National Guard is sent to evacuate the affected areas, and the President orders a massive evacuation. However, the military is unable to contain the situation, and the quake continues to grow in strength.
Emily and Jake race to save Emily’s family and warn the public, but the quake is quickly getting out of control. As the quake grows in strength, the two must make a daring escape from the crumbling city. With the help of a group of survivors, they must find a way to reach safety.
