Synopsis/Plot
Max Payne is a 2008 neo-noir action thriller film based on the video game series of the same name. The film follows Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg), a former police detective who is out for revenge after his family is killed.
Max, a former New York City police detective, is now a maverick DEA agent working the streets of New York. After his wife and daughter are murdered, Max is determined to find the killer and avenge their deaths. His investigation leads him to a mysterious drug syndicate and a series of mysterious deaths. Along the way, he is joined by Mona Sax (Mila Kunis), a beautiful assassin with her own agenda.
Max soon finds himself in a deadly game of cat and mouse, as he discovers that the syndicate is connected to the mysterious deaths and his own family’s murder. With the help of Mona, Max must face off against the syndicate and its powerful leader, Alfred Woden (Beau Bridges), in order to get justice for his family.
