Synopsis/Plot
Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant is a 2011 short film based on the Marvel Comics universe and set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is the second in a series of short films produced by Marvel Studios to be included as bonus material in the home media releases of their feature films.
The film follows Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) as he visits Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) at Stark Industries. Coulson is there to discuss the inclusion of Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) in the Avengers Initiative. Stark is not in favor of the idea, and Coulson must convince him to cooperate.
The film opens with Coulson arriving at Stark Industries and making his way to Stark’s office. Coulson is greeted by Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), Stark’s assistant, who informs him that Stark is not available. Coulson then meets with Agent Jasper Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernández), who is in charge of the Avengers Initiative. Sitwell explains that Blonsky is a former soldier who was given a special serum that enhanced his physical abilities. However, Blonsky was unable to control his newfound power and was incarcerated.
