Synopsis – What to Expect from “Martian Child”
Martian Child is a 2007 American comedy-drama film directed by Menno Meyjes and starring John Cusack, Amanda Peet, and Bobby Coleman. The film is based on the novel of the same name by David Gerrold.
The film follows the story of David Gordon (John Cusack), a recently widowed science fiction writer who has been struggling to cope with the death of his wife. He decides to adopt a troubled young boy named Dennis (Bobby Coleman), who believes he is from Mars. David’s friends and family are skeptical of this decision, but David is determined to give Dennis the love and support he needs.
Throughout the film, David and Dennis form a strong bond, and David helps Dennis come to terms with his past and learn to trust people again. David also helps Dennis to understand that his feelings of being from Mars are just a part of his imagination.
The film follows David and Dennis as they learn to trust each other and form an unbreakable bond. Along the way, they learn to accept each other for who they are and find a way to make their relationship work.
At the end of the film, Dennis is officially adopted by David and the two become a family. The film ends with a touching moment between David and Dennis, as they look out at the stars and David tells Dennis that no matter where he is from, he will always be his son.
