Synopsis/Plot
Mars Attacks! is a 1996 science fiction comedy film directed by Tim Burton and starring Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Martin Short, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michael J. Fox, Rod Steiger, Tom Jones, and many more. The film follows an alien invasion of Earth by the Martians, who arrive in flying saucers and proceed to wreak havoc on the planet. The Martians are initially welcomed as friendly visitors, but soon reveal their true intentions and begin to terrorize the population. The story follows the efforts of the President of the United States, a scientist, and a group of misfits as they attempt to save the planet from the Martian onslaught.
The movie begins with an alien spacecraft arriving in the Nevada desert and then proceeding to the White House, where the President of the United States greets them. The Martians appear to be friendly and even perform a musical number, but soon they begin to reveal their true intentions. The Martians then proceed to launch a massive attack on Earth, using their advanced technology and weaponry to wreak havoc on the planet.
