Synopsis/Plot
Married to the Mob is a 1988 American black comedy film directed by Jonathan Demme and written by Barry Strugatz and Mark R. Burns. The film stars Michelle Pfeiffer as Angela de Marco, a young widow who is being pursued by a corrupt FBI agent and the mobster husband of her late husband.
Angela de Marco is a young widow living in Brooklyn, New York. She is trying to make a new life for herself and her son, but finds it difficult to escape the influence of her late husband’s mob connections. She is pursued by Tony “the Tiger” Russo, a corrupt FBI agent who is determined to bring down her husband’s former mob boss, and by the mobster husband of her late husband, who is determined to win her back.
Angela is eventually forced to choose between her independence and the mob life. Along the way, she finds herself falling in love with a kind and gentle FBI agent who helps her out of her predicament.
The film is a lighthearted comedy, with a focus on the characters and their relationships. It features a strong female lead in Michelle Pfeiffer, who is surrounded by a cast of colorful supporting characters, including Dean Stock
