Synopsis/Plot
Mannequin is a 1987 American romantic comedy fantasy film starring Andrew McCarthy, Kim Cattrall, James Spader, G. W. Bailey, and Estelle Getty. The film follows the story of a young artist, Jonathan Switcher (McCarthy), who is hired by a department store to create a window display. Unbeknownst to him, the department store is in fact a magical kingdom, and the mannequin he creates comes to life at night.
Jonathan meets the mannequin, named Ema “Emmy” Heshire (Cattrall), and the two quickly fall in love. However, their relationship is threatened when Emmy is revealed to be a princess from a magical kingdom, and she is promised to another man. Jonathan must now find a way to save Emmy from her fate and win her heart.
The film is set in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and features a number of iconic locations, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Franklin Institute. The film is a lighthearted romantic comedy with a magical twist, and is sure to bring a smile to your face. Mannequin is a classic 80s romantic comedy that is sure to entertain viewers of all ages.
